Our Austrian office has been appointed to promote a Vienna-based university summer school in the UK.

We are working with the OeAD-Housing Office – which offers sustainable accommodation for students across Austria – to raise the profile of two summer schools, focused on alternative economics and sustainable building techniques.

Taking place in July, the ‘Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems (AEMS)’ summer school explores the economy of the future and how it can adapt to balance some of the turmoil, strains and challenges of modern life.

The second summer school ‘Green Building Solutions’ runs in July into August. It offers students a unique experience to see first-hand how Vienna has evolved into a global leader in environmental construction – and how the city’s collaborative approach can be adapted to meet increasing demands for more sustainable construction techniques in the UK.

All training is provided entirely in English and is delivered by a consortium of Austrian universities, together with technical colleges, experts, alliances and NGOs.

Shepherd PR, which has its headquarters in Ashbourne, opened an office on the outskirts of Innsbruck earlier this year. Its work is focused on promoting Austria’s sustainable construction sector in the UK.
